Happy Friday!

Lennox Citizens Academy is hosting a discussion on a possible Department of Corrections connection to Lennox Wastewater Treatment Facility TONIGHT Oct. 23rd at 7pm. It will take place at Prosper Country Warehouse & Event Hall.

***** UPDATE: Crews will continue working through the end of the week on east of Main St. and north of 5th Ave.*****
This year, Area Three will be undergoing sewer jetting as part of our service agreement with Pipe Detectives. The highlighted borders for this project include Main St. and North of 4th Ave, which will also be part of the cleaning. The City of Lennox has contracted with the company Pipe Detectives to perform preventative maintenance by cleaning the sanitary sewer in your neighborhood. This maintenance will improve the sewer’s performance and significantly reduce the chance of future sewer backups and related issues. Crews will be working in the north-east side of town. *See Map The cleaning process creates a vacuum in the sewer. While most homes will not be affected, homes with inadequate or partially blocked drain vents may experience some issues. The vacuum may cause “P-traps” (the S-shaped bend in the pipe under sinks and drains) to be sucked dry. If you notice a sewer smell as a result, simply run some water in your drains to refill the P-traps. To minimize any inconvenience, it is recommended that you take the following precautions on the scheduled days: · Shut off the water valve to your toilet(s). · Put the toilet seat(s) down. · Cover floor drains with mats to prevent any splashing of P-trap water in poorly vented homes. Please take these precautions during the following dates: October 14th-18th. Should you have any questions, please contact City Hall at (605)647-2286 Thank you for your cooperation, City of Lennox, Utility Department.

Mayor Fergen attended the October Mayor's Roundtable, organized by the Sioux Metro Growth Alliance. This month's special guest was South Dakota's First Gentleman Bryon Noem! These meetings are a great way for local communities to engage with each other on regional concerns - thank you to Tyler Tordsen and the SMGA team for organizing these important events!

Happy Friday!
