In the coming few days, Lennox residents will begin receiving notices from the Lincoln County Equalization Department. These notices will provide property owners with information on the assessed value assigned to their property in Lincoln County. If you feel the new assessed value is not in line with the actual value of your property, you have the right and opportunity to appeal that assessed value to the Lennox Board of Equalization. This article will provide information on how to appeal, as well as information on the appeal process.

About Assessed Values & Levies:
Your assessed value is one of two parts in determining your annual property tax bill
The levy (for each taxing jurisdiction) is the second of two parts in determining your annual property tax bill
Your property tax bill is determined by dividing your assessed value by 1000, and multiplying by the total levies for City, County, and School
Total levy for Lennox properties: 15.747
EXAMPLE:
Assessed Value: $250,000
Levy: 15.747
Tax Bill: 250 x 15.747 = $3936.75
Levies for the City of Lennox have decreased by 33% over the last five years
