The Lennox City Council met on Monday, October 23 for their second regular meeting of the month. Following a review and discussion on Department Head reports, the City Council took the following actions:
- Approved an updated operating agreement with the Lennox School District for the Joint Community Library.
- Approved a Resolution assessing three properties for failing to pay for nuisance abatement on those properties in 2023. These are typically for weeds/grass and junk/garbage that needs to be cleaned up. The costs for the abatement and any fines will be sent to Lincoln County for collection with regular property taxes in 2024.
- Approved a temporary construction easement at 504 West 1st Ave for use during the Central Basin 4 Project.
- Approved a proposal from the Lennox Baseball & Softball Association to share in the cost of improvements to the fencing at the little league field and softball field.
- Approved an agreement with Clearstar to provide background checks for all employees and volunteers.
- Discussed the merits of adding a new optional insurance plan that includes a Health Savings Account.
- Approved a service agreement that migrates most of the City's financial and billing capabilities online.
